Meet Kostiantyn
Kostiantyn is originally from Ukraine and now works as a software engineer at JustOn GmbH in Jena. He tells us how JustOn makes it easier for international employees to start their new jobs and settle in Jena.
What do you like most about your work and your company?
We are a relatively small team at JustOn, but we can look at everything together, discuss it and find a solution together. We work very well as a team.
What challenges were you faced with when you started? How did you overcome these challenges?
Shortly after I started, we had to work completely from home because of the Covid measures. That was different from usual. But I’m already used to working from home. JustOn provided me with everything I needed to get started right away. In the beginning I had problems with the internet provider at home, but JustOn helped out and gave me mobile traffic. Now it fits.
I had my onboarding courses with team colleagues and was able to look into the other departments as well – not just the development department. We talked a lot and I was able to ask questions. That was very pleasant.
How did your company support you the most?
It was a bit difficult to find a flat. Jena is a popular student city, so I also had to look in the surrounding area. Then our managing director helped me to find a flat in Erfurt. He went to the viewing, looked at the flat and let me know what the flat was like. It was a good choice.
